Allow user to permanently resize Description field

Frequently my billing description goes below the visible area of the description field; and while you can monetarily resize the window after you update the slip it shrinks back to the small box and hides billing description detail. It would be terrific if you allowed the user to resize this field and have that be a permanent change for that user.
