Presently in order to set up a matter for LEDES billing, the Email option needs to be checked & the appropriate LEDES format selected. A Settings button appears, and users can then enter appropriate values such as LEDES Client ID and Matter ID. In doing this, however, it also means the data file will be emailed - probably to the client unless their email is changed or removed from their Contact record. I was told the workaround was to check the Email option, enter the LEDES settings, and then uncheck the Email option box so the electronic data file will not be emailed. All of this is unnecessary. Please separate the LEDES setup function from the Email option.
